Located just north of the Village of Radium Hot Springs, in BC’s Upper Columbia River Valley, the historical Upper Ranch {est. 1886} is three hours west of Calgary and about an hour from the famous resort towns of Banff, Lake Louise and Panorama. Nestled between the wilderness of the Purcell Mountains and the jagged spires of the Canadian Rockies, it is an oasis of unspoiled natural splendour. The Ranch is bordered on its eastern edge by Kootenay National Park and on its western edge by western North America’s largest contiguous wetlands, an area renowned for its remarkable abundance of wildlife.

The Upper Ranch continues as a working ranch centred around registered Shorthorn Cattle. We believe environmentally sustainable practices will maintain and continue to improve this ranch business, lands, and local ecology. We have an Environmental Farm Plan in place and implement “Best Management Practices” identified under the farm plan.
